HEATH — About 52 percent of voting residents turned out to settle a Selectboard race between write-in candidates Friday. Robin Provost-Carlson was elected for her first three-year term on the Selectboard, receiving 145 votes compared to the 111 votes cast for Robert Bourke. A total of 260 out of a possible 500 voters participated, according to Town Clerk Hilma Sumner. Bill Latrell was not seeking re-election to the Selectboard and long-time moderator Douglas Wilkins ended his service after 30 years. So on his first day as the new town moderator, Eric Sumner lead his first annual town meeting Saturday. Incumbents re-elected to three-year terms, and running unopposed were: School Committee Kenneth Rocke; Library Trustee Janis Carr; Assessor Heidi Griswold, Planning Board member (five years) Calvin Carr; and winning two one-year positions as constable are Robert Bourke and Steven Thane. Also, Jeff Simmons was re-elected to the Finance Committee by 23 write-in votes.
