The only article on the warrant was to move money from the Equipment/Vehicle Stabilization Account to a Truck Purchase FY24 account.  The article was recommended by the Select Board and Finance Committee.

The article failed to pass by two thirds with 41 in favor and 24 against. Jeff Johnston pointed out that while we do have 3 plow trucks, 2 are not reliable (both of which were purchased before his tenure): Truck #1 is a 2003 and was due for replacement this year, Truck #2  is a 2012 which has had constant and costly mechanical failures.  Jeff reported that the fleet does include a Dodge 5500 pickup that can be used for some work such as clearing intersections and a grader that can be used, but not as a permanent replacement of a plow truck.  Without money to work with, Jeff can not shop around for a used replacement vehicle before winter,  STM Truck Handout
