6:00 p.m. Call Meeting to Order, Review Agenda, Review Minutes: 1/11/24
Public Comment - none
6:30 p.m. Parks & Recreation Committee, Conservation Commission: update on P & R work, review of areas of authority in Shapiro Land.
  • Conservation Commission overseas the Shapiro land and further, owns all wetlands issues.
  • Town needs to find the agreement between private owners and town for use and work on trails connecting the Burnt Hill Trail with Colrain.
  • Need to address current wetlands violations on the trails.
  • Snow groomer: P&R needs to meet with Conservation Commission for permission to use a groomer on the Shapiro land and also whether or not the snow groomer can be stored on the land.
Other Business
District Local Technical Assistance Project Requests—review & rate requests—vote anticipated
  • "Thanks to the Baker/Polito Administration and the Legislature, the FRCOG is pleased to once again be able to offer member towns technical assistance on a wide variety of priority issues. "  https://frcog.org/project/municipal-resources/​
  • SB reviewed and prioritized areas for consideration.
Hilltown Youth Performing Arts—review of lease and requests
  • Question raised if there were any issues with the lease to date.
  • Some items were identified for improvement in following the lease requirements.
Community Hall Windows Fundraising Committee
  • Jean Gran resignation and Suzanne Hannay appointment. SB voted to  accept both.
Building Use Committee
  • Appointment of Rebecca Sampson and Marie Forster. SB voted to approve.
Community Hall/Sawyer Hall —Mold Remediation
  • No update, Tim contacting vendor, but not receiving a response.​
Salt Shed—estimate update
  • Feb 13 joint Finance Committee meeting discussion.
  • FinComm recommended focusing on current site. Robyn requested numbers.
  • Need to put together a bid package to include design and build of a salt shed.
Business Not Anticipated
Heath received $30,000 from the state given to towns impacted by August and September storms 
MTRSD anticipates a 7.5% increase in school budget
